Federal Regulatory Oversight

HHS / SAMHSA

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and its subdivision SAMHSA set national standards for substance use disorder and mental health treatment. SAMHSA certification is required for Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs).

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

The DEA regulates prescribing and dispensing of controlled substances under the Controlled Substances Act. All prescribers at Beacon Addiction Care hold active, location-specific DEA registrations.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

CMS governs provider enrollment, billing compliance, and the No Surprises Act. Beacon Addiction Care’s billing practices comply with all applicable CMS Conditions of Participation.

HIPAA / 42 CFR Part 2

As a covered entity under HIPAA, we maintain administrative, physical, and technical safeguards for all Protected Health Information. SUD treatment records receive heightened protection under 42 CFR Part 2.

Registration is practitioner- and location-specific. Pursuant to the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, the DATA X-waiver for buprenorphine prescribing has been eliminated.
